Category: Let's talk
I've noticed that a few folks are going out to old board topics and reviving them. For newbies, that's a good way to get to know your fellow zoners. For the oldies (yes, Becky, that means you), that's a good way to reminisce.
In general, it's a time consuming activity, kind of like looking at a picture album of the zone.
So, I've put together a few of my favorite board topics, and hope you enjoy reading them as much as I did.
The first three have something to do with blindness: it's periles and pitfalls.
what do you like about not being able to see,
what is it like to see?
Finally, lest I forget our favorite topic here on the zone:
What is sexual activity like if you are blind
The next topic wins my award for the funniest topic ever posted here on the zone. For nine days last September, a few of us were possessed by a topic that was put out there as a joke by a newbie, and it caught fire.
Those Bastardly Cookie Makers!
And, finally, here's the board topic that I think was the most well fought debate here on the zone. I consider it to be one of the most educational exchanges I've ever taken part in.
israel used cluster bombs in its war against lebanon.
Let us know what your favorite topic is.
Thanks,
Bob
Hi Bob.
Very good work.
Deffinately this is going to be one of my favorite topicks so i can see what other zoners find as favorite topicks. As of mine i can't think much at the moment. But a topick i enjoyed reading was braille watches or talking watches something like that, two recent once that sugar baby created about organ donation and if we should pay to save the stupid, there was in the past a topick about elections being compalsory. I think that's about it for now. Sorry i can't put links like you did. I don't know html and for some of them i don't remember the exact titles.
i'm still one of the sorta newbies who is going through old topics and finding my favorites.
For me, and for anyone who knows me this isn't a surprise, but "How Many Musicians do We Have on the Zone?"
Lou
I like reading and posting jokes the most. I also enjoyed the topic started by Raskolnikov about the animal crackers. I occasionally enjoy serious posts, but I can't think of any specific ones right now.
I’d have to say the topic that touched me the most was Matty Stephenic.
He was a blessing to this world in his own right, and certainly made an impact on me.
I felt a personal connection as well, and his poetry, though simple, to some, left an indelible impression!!!
He is simply one of those rare people whom one doesn’t forget.
He will no doubt, be terribly missed, but through his poetry, he will live on!!!
i agree with poster six. His poetry definitely has had an effect on me. i've only started reading it after he died, and i continue to share his messages of hope and peace with anyone I meet who hasn't already heard of him. i'm sure he would be happy with anyone who continues to do this. 8smile8
I agree with the original poster on the bastardly cookie-makers and the cluster bomb topics. As for others, I'm kind of drawing a blank at the moment, but I must confess to being one of those ever-so-hated people who enjoys a good bit of drama, so I'm bound to like anything that degenerates into a he-said she-said bitch-fest. :)
On the fun side of posting, of course the joke board. (becky, who would have thunk it?) I also had great fun with the questions only board topic. Answers was good too.
Lou
love the joke board as well *smile*
hmmm,
how about
harp vs blackbird.
all the let's bann the roman battle mask topics.
hmmm, what else.
Lol, i really enjoy all the serious topics that get posted.
but there was one a little while back that Lawlord posted, the scottish allans list, it was realy funny.
Soviet, you're right about the poem by Lalord. It was halarious.
